PostHeaderIcon GANJA GRANNY sez ANYBODY COULD HAVE DONE IT!

GANJA GRANNY sez, Half a year is gone and many of us are still locked in a smoke filled closet.. Whatever you think you are doing it is not enough.. If you think you have done it all… THINK AGAIN! The place to demonstrate and bring  Cannabis Awareness to the public is at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte and the Republican Convention in Florida.  Will you be there??????Having fun, going to cannabis fueled festivals, concerts, marches, rally's, you name it... is just that.. FUN!.. Why are we so intent on preaching to each other? Why are we so satisfied with the status quo?.. I keep watching, hanging back, observing the scene wondering whatever made me think, I could make a difference????? And then…. I remember Barbara Jackson and I remember why I thought it  was so important. I think of all the people who have died because of their illness including Barbara, waiting for a legal hit.. or those who died because they were killed IN ACTION because of Cannabis( as in a police raid that can be deadly. I think of all the kids who have been busted for minor Marijuana violations. I think of all those doing serious time, more than a rapist , or a common thief..In some situations, more time, than a murderer… I think of the drug wars, the lives on both sides of the law that have been ruined or lost as a result of this senseless war on drugs…Everyday is a battle that has yet to be won. We cannot possibly give up, because we have come too far but what is it that will turn this around???.. What can we do to make a difference?????What is our goal and how can we achieve it. We do need the expertise of the larger reputable organizations who fight for us in every state and on a federal level..Actually a  FEDERAL LEVEL is what we should be concentrating on..Federal Prohibition of Cannabis must end before we can throw a party and say.. Look what we did!I say We… because We is the only way we can do it..I came across this piece and decided to include it in my blog.. It is the first time I have seen in print what I believe will happen.. I believe, if reelected our President will make a drastic change, if not a perfect one regarding the war on drugs..
Is It Time to Scale Back the 'War on Drugs'?

GQ and the Huffington Post report that, if re-elected, the Obama administration will change the current strategy in the "war on drugs." Obama, who used marijuana and cocaine in his youth, has expressed that the approach to addressing drug abuse by strict enforcement and punishment alone does not work. However, federal authorities under his administration have cracked down on medical marijuana dispensaries across the country, even where their operations are legal under state law, leading many to question his commitment to changing drug enforcement policy.

Critics of the war on drugs say that it is actually making the problem worse. They argue that, by imprisoning small-time dealers and other low-level participants, authorities are breaking up impoverished families, dooming future generations to a similar fate. They say the government should spend fewer resources on the criminal aspect of drug use and more on the public health dimension, expanding treatment and rehabilitation. Some go as far to say marijuana should be legal, which could fill state coffers through taxes and regulation. However, others argue that calls for legalization and decriminalization are unrealistic and even dangerous, and that going soft on drugs will only lead to more use.

In the Meantime Ganja Granny sez This is a story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did.
Somebody got angry because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody knew that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realised that Somebody wouldn't do it.
And Everybody blamed Somebody because Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

PostHeaderIcon GANJA GRANNY sez WE KEPT IT LIT at 2012,GAY PRIDE PARADE!

GANJA GRANNY sez KEEPING IT LIT applies to the 2012, Gay Pride Parade. This past Sunday, a number of groups in favor of Legalization of Cannabis, marched  proudly with our brothers and sisters of the LGBT Community and we definitely kept it lit…. In fact, Ganja Granny kept it lit, throughout most of the parade, compliments of Michael Mc Kenna of the Yippie Cafe.... Ganja Granny was  happily bumped, humped and dumped a few times during the course of the parade. It was a magical, surreal experience for everyone…..  The real HIGH is to hear the roar of the crowd as we march into their view… The sound and the feeling is more addictive that hard drugs.. It is exactly what we need…. to keep us going, giving us that extra push.. to fight a little harder than before…... We have so much to learn from the entire Gay Community…...and how they have dealt with their on going struggles.. How could they not win... with their special brand of determination and dedication... not to mention BIG MONEY supporters. STONEWALL gave them the courage to organize and fight back… WHAT WILL BE OUR STONEWALL?… What can make our cause successful as theirs.. We all know the struggle continues and we will all have to keep fighting to come out of OUR SMOKE FILLED CLOSETS! The Gay Community is an inspiration to all people, who have ever had their rights trampled on..Ganja Granny gives thanks to all who came and marched with us… It was a great line up… NORML led in our section with Moms United following. Saint Ann's Corner House of Recovery was next and we splashed out with our huge LEGALIZE CANNABIS NOW! banner. MEDICAL MARIJUANA NOW, looking good as ever, brought up the rear.. We were an awesome, impressive group..  Thanks also goes to Ms Moossy...Miss Joan Marie Moossy allowed her creative juices to take over and made us huge joints to use as props…Hey! If it was legal... we would use the real thing.. I had a huge fake Blunt or whatever they call 'em… filled with burning sage…  I was fooling around and I started puffing on it, making huge clouds of smoke… Each time I did this… The crowd went crazy..People ran into the street... asking me for a hit..  Ya gotta congratulate The Pie Man! There was a point where he could not get a ride to Manhattan.. He not only got a ride, he had some really great guys, taking turns pushing him in his wheel chair..Thanks to the gorgeous muscles of John Murdock, William C and Bovenga Na Maduma…Pie Man"s allegiance to the cause, is a lesson for us all….he was going to be there by hook or by crook….  Their were after parties galore…... I was privileged to attend a 70th birthday party for Nate Riley…Others made their way to the Yippie Cafe or down to the Piers...  Everyone who could not march or left early seem to be at Nate's Party and so were all the goodies.. I barely remember getting home.. Someone said I took a girl home? I can assure you I dropped her off at the HAMPTON Jitney like any Granny would do..…. I was exhausted from the days activities. Unfortunately, I still had a problem sleeping. I Could not stop thinking about how much fun we had, how fabulous we looked and how we really did make ourselves heard and seen….Ganja Granny sez Thank you to everyone who came…especially Cindy Day who has never let us down, My grandson George, who took photos along with my Godson/adopted son Dana. All the lovely ladies, Deanna, Nadine and Denice who always make us proud…and who could match the wonderful fotos that Paul De Rienzo took for us…. I cannot forget the guys who took turns carrying our banner, Guillermo, Tony, Paul Bennett, Michael, Bovenga and a few others. I apologize because I cannot remember each one by name... We thank each and every one of you..  Ganja Granny sez Keep It Lit..and PASS IT AROUND….. WE WILL BE BACK, BIGGER THAN EVER BEFORE..WE'LL BE SMOKIN' SOON!
